Kenneth T. Lewis, 73, of Geneseo, died Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the Kewanee Care Nursing Home in Kewanee. Per his wishes, cremation rites have bee accorded. A memorial service celebrating his life was at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 19 at Vandemore Funeral Home in Geneseo. The Rev. Dr. Chris Ritter officiated. A visitation was from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. April 19 at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Kewanee Care Nursing Home.Kenneth was born Nov. 7, 1941, in Geneseo, the son of Harold and Marion (Owens) Lewis. He attended Geneseo schools. Kenneth was united in marriage to C. Jean Peterson on July 20, 1968, in Geneseo. Kenneth was employed at Black Hawk Foundations for 36 years, retiring as an operation engineer. Kenneth enjoyed taking care of his yard and flowers and traveling to visit his grandchildren’s sporting events.Survivors include his wife, Jean; one son, Dean (Nita) Lewis of Versailles, Mo.; one daughter, Dee Smith of Peoria; seven grandchildren: Zach Lewis, Evan Lewis, Drake Lewis, Brock Lewis, Grant Lewis, Kyleigh Smith and Zoey Smith; two brothers, Gilbert (Roberta) Lewis of DeWitt, Iowa, and Harold “Hal” (Lori) Lewis Jr. of Osco. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronald Lewis.
