Died at age 87.
Cornelius was a Private, Capt. Joseph Hankinson's Company, Col. John Mehelm's 4th Regiment, Hunterdon County, New Jersey Militia, June, 1776.
He was also a Private, Capt. Richard Stillwell's Company, 4th Regiment, Hunterdon County, New Jersey Militia.
Finally, he was a Private, Capt. David Chambers' Company, 3rd Regiment, Middlesex County, New Jersey Militia, March 1777 and served a tour of Guard duty at Cranbury, New Jersey, was at Battles of Connecticut Farms, June 7, 1780, and Springfield, June 23, 1780, received Certificate No. 1197, amounting to a small sum for the depreciation of his Continental pay, in the Middlesex County, New Jersey Militia, during the Revolutionary War.
