PEKIN - Paul L. McCree, 76, of 310 Washington St., Apartment 6, passed away at 9:52 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2008, at his home. He was formerly of Glasford.
Born May 31, 1931, in Williamson County to Herman and Faye (Chamness) McCree, he married Norma Gilbert on June 2, 1951, in DeSoto. She died Nov. 29, 2001, in Pekin. He later married Patricia Watters on July 6, 2006, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James McCree of Pekin and Bruce (Patricia) McCree of Creve Coeur; one stepdaughter, Lynn (Byron) Terry of Pekin; one stepson, Todd Rauthenberg of Peoria; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandson; and one sister, Kathleen (James) Russell of Moreno Valley, Calif.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Paul worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1995 from the foundry.
He attended First Baptist Church in Marquette Heights.
Paul enjoyed collecting die cast model cars and working outdoors in his yard.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
